Job Summary:
The Service Engineer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial machinery and equipment, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and technical excellence. This role requires extensive travel and hands-on mechanical and electrical aptitude.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all work complies with OSHA and other applicable safety regulations while maintaining a high standard of discipline and professionalism.
- Perform on-site installation, commissioning, validation, maintenance, and repairs of machinery and associated systems.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control system issues in the field, leveraging manuals, drawings, and support resources.
- Deliver training and guidance to customer maintenance and operations teams on equipment operation and best practices.
- Maintain strong customer relationships through clear, professional communication and responsive support.
- Offer remote troubleshooting and phone support as needed.
- Assist in plant activities such as trial runs, testing, equipment prep, and packaging for shipment.
- Collaborate with engineering, service, and sales teams to identify and implement solutions for customer concerns.
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely service reports, expense reports, and time tracking documentation.
- Follow company policies and procedures, promoting core values such as customer focus, continuous improvement, and teamwork.
Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred, or equivalent technical experience (e.g., 3+ years working with injection molding or similar industrial machinery).
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose and solve complex machinery issues with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills; able to work effectively across all levels of a customer's organization.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), Adobe, and general internet tools.
- Ability to read technical documents, including schematics and manuals; hands-on experience with analog and digital circuit troubleshooting is a plus.
- Valid and unrestricted driver's license required.
