Job Description Peterson Trucks has the immediate need for a Temporary Service Clerk at our Santa Rosa, CA location. (This is a Temporary position lasting four to six months.) The Service Clerk is responsible for providing customer service energetically and professionally to walk-in customers and visitors, discussing service repair estimates, product pricing, and repair lead times with customers. This position works closely with sales, service, inventory, and/or operations teams to ensure quick and accurate information is communicated. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS The following reflects management's definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Answer phones and transfer calls per customers or callers' request. Provide "Customer First" service to all walk-in customers and visitors. Keep showroom stocked, priced, and clean. Perform data entry into customer relationship management (CRM) system, Microsoft Excel, and/or Microsoft Word for product repairs Work with inventory and/or service team to prepare invoices, get product ready for customer delivery, and make sure delivery checks and updates have been completed. Maintain communication with Service Manager, Foreman, Technicians, and/or Sales Representatives, regarding customer requests. Assist service department with communicating about estimates, approvals, repairs transactions and getting repairs back to customers. Assist technicians with work order estimates. Participate in process improvement by evaluating current procedures and determining / making recommendations to streamline and improve processes. Maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance. Depending on location, may be responsible to: Ensure customers are updated regularly on status of repairs and all documentation is signed & processed properly. Ensure showroom is clean and stocked with accurate pricing on products and accessories. OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS Work collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation. Display excellent communication skills including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills required in working with customers/ coworkers, including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure. Respectfully take direction from supervisor/manager.
