It's what our family legacy is built on, and why our values remain Family, Community, Integrity, Passion, and Accountability.The service manager oversees the service department and is responsible for controlling costs, building a loyal clientele, maintaining good employee relations, setting and obtaining sales and profit objectives and maintaining service records. Additionally, they must satisfy service concerns of all customers, ensure that service is performed at the highest level and operate the department profitably.

As with all positions within dealerships, service advisors are expected to uphold the highest ethical standards.

Job Duties of the Service Advisor

Seeking a qualified Service Advisor who wants to be part of an energetic team at a family and community service-oriented company. Ideal candidate will have experience scheduling service work and selling additional services to guests, along with knowledge of repairs and recommended maintenance. The Service Advisor is responsible for Service Department sales and gross profit, and for proper handling of service guests.

Essential Functions:
  • Interface with guests and service technicians to identify and sell vehicle repairs and maintenance.
  • Determine need for repairs and maintenance by vehicle inspection, questioning guest, and by researching service history and computer information.
  • Verify that work is properly diagnosed and performed.
  • Input and maintain vehicle and customer information in computer system.
  • Communicate with guests in a professional and timely manner with updates of vehicle repair status and costs.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently in an efficient and organized manner.
  • Work calmly and efficiently under pressure, and with persons who can be frustrated.
  • Use telephone, Email and other means to communicate with customers and vendors.
  • Schedule appointments.
  • Maintain professional appearance of work area.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least two years of Service writing experience preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to maintain an acceptable, safe driving record.
  • Ability to work productively in a team environment.
