Description:
  • Server Virtualization Systems Administrator III
We are seeking an experienced server virtualization technician with significant experience in implementing and managing scalable, resilient virtualization infrastructure. This role will be responsible for implementation and management of on-prem infrastructure. As a key player on the enterprise infrastructure team, you will work closely with technical architects and cross-functional teams to continually assess current virtualization infrastructure and implement optimized, scalable, and reliable solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support virtualization solutions, including server consolidation, high availability, and disaster recovery initiatives.
  • Assist in configuration and maintenance of VMware ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, and other VMware components.
  • Monitor virtual infrastructure performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies to ensure optimal resource utilization.
  • Provision, deploy, and manage virtual machines (VMs), templates, and snapshots.
  • Support and maintain security measures for virtualized environments, including access controls, network segmentation, and VM isolation.
  • Support and maintain server class operating systems including Windows, Red Hat and other Unix.
  • Create and maintain documentation related to virtualization configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Leverage automation tools and scripts to streamline migration and configuration tasks, ensuring efficient and error-free deployments.
  • Work with project managers, developers, infrastructure teams, and external vendors to ensure project goals are achieved within budget and timelines.
  • Implement and uphold security best practices and compliance standards across the new infrastructure environment.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in VMware architecture.
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP), VMware Certified Design Expert (VCDX), MCSE and Red Hat Certification beneficial but not required.
Technical Skills :
  • Experience with VMWare SDDC components, including ESXi v7 and 8, SRM, VSAN and vRealize/Aria Suite
  • Proficiency with Windows Server, RHEL and other Unix based operating systems
  • Proficiency in alternative virtualization technologies, including Microsoft Hyper-V, Nutanix, OpenShift, etc. including deployment, configuration, and management.
  • Working knowledge of network topology, disaster recovery and business continuity technologies.
  • Experience with Cisco UCS environments and Hyper-Converged infrastructure
  • Working knowledge of storage replication and backup solutions.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., VMWare Aria Automation, Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, Python) beneficial but not required.
Required Criteria:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/related discipline or related work experience
  • 5-7 years' work experience

Salary Range:

$111,000-$168,500/Annual
