Position Overview:
MIKA is seeking experienced and polished Servers to provide world-class service in a refined and sophisticated dining environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, a deep knowledge of food and beverage, and the ability to deliver exceptional guest experiences. This role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work seamlessly as part of a team in a high-end restaurant setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional service to guests in accordance with fine dining standards.
- Present menus, answer questions, and offer expert advice on food and wine pairings.
- Take orders accurately, ensuring guest preferences and dietary restrictions are accommodated.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and with precision, maintaining a polished and professional demeanor.
- Maintain knowledge of the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and presentation.
- Upsell food, wine, and special menu items to enhance the dining experience.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure seamless timing and service of dishes.
- Ensure tables are properly set, clean, and well-maintained throughout service.
- Handle guest concerns and special requests with grace and professionalism.
- Process payments, including handling cash, credit cards, and billing systems accurately.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards in compliance with restaurant policies and local regulations.
- Adhere to all restaurant policies and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience as a food server in a fine dining or upscale restaurant environment.
- Extensive knowledge of fine dining etiquette, food presentation, and wine service.
- Strong multitasking abilities, with the capacity to remain calm and composed under pressure.
- Ability to work efficiently in a team and contribute to a harmonious service environment.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Ability to stand, walk, and carry items for extended periods of time.
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain all required licenses, certificates, or permits.
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
Working Conditions:
- Must have open availability and the ability to regularly report to work on time including on nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the restaurant.
- Ability to work long days when required by business demands.
- Ability to stand, walk, and carry items for extended periods of time.
- Ability to frequently lift heavy items, including trays, up to 40lbs.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors.
