Part-time positions available in newly renovated senior living community in Columbia seeks experienced candidates with excellent hospitality skills to work in a professional kitchen/fine dining environment designed for older adults to enjoy. The Waiter, Waitress, Server is responsible for table service in the community dining rooms.

Primary Job Duties:

  • Assists in maintaining a high level of customer service for our residents and their guests.
  • Sets tables and maintains workstations in proper order.
  • Takes orders, provides service and requested items both graciously and courteously.
  • Clears dishes from tables during and after meal service.
  • Answers pertinent questions about menu items.
  • Keep work areas clean and orderly.
  • Maintain neat and clean appearance and practice good personal hygiene
  • Complete opening and/or closing side work in a timely manner.
  • Can be relied upon to be at work on time.

Secondary Job Duties:

  • Assists with distribution of clean dishes if needed.
  • Maintains safe and sanitary conditions in work areas.
  • Maintains acceptable department dress code.
  • Completes all assigned cleaning tasks.
  • Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
  • Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and communicate effectively.
  • Experience serving tables in a hotel, restaurant or club with fine dining preferred; will train.
  • Ability to interpret and explain menu, refer or answer questions, coordinate meal service process and understands requests.
  • Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor and peers. Requires courtesy, tact and graciousness.
  • Wears appropriate black non-slip footwear.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Works indoors
  • Must be able to stand/walk for 100% of the work day
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs. independently
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, and balance frequently throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to see, hear, and speak
