Description

Basic Function: Responsible for providing a clean and pleasant dining experience by clearing, sanitizing, and resetting tables, and ensuring the dining room(s) are well-stocked and tidy. Assist Servers in their duties.

Essential duties and responsibilities: The following job duties are essential to the successful and satisfactory performance of this job. Other duties may be assigned.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Prepare dining room for patrons by setting tables and stocking all necessary supplies prior to the beginning of service.
  • Clear tables of dishware and debris after meals.
  • Keep floors and chairs near dining tables clean by sweeping or picking up debris.
  • Maintain appropriate levels of glassware, silverware and dishware in the server stations.
  • Serve water, bread and butter after guests are seated.
  • Maintain table settings by removing finished courses and replenishing utensils as necessary.
  • Clean, sanitize, and reset tables after meals.
  • Assist food servers with their duties such as assisting with the delivery of food and retrieval of any supplies they may require.
  • Collect trash from dining room, grill and other specified places after each serving period.
  • Wipe chairs before and after meals.
  • Maintain ice in ice bins.
  • Stock server stations with supplies.
  • Assist in moving dining room furniture as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Exhibit and practice professional and courteous behavior while interacting with both internal and external customers, in person and in email or telephone conversations.
  • Comply with all rules, regulations and policies as stated in the Employee Handbook and/or established by the Board of Governors.
  • Adhere to the Club's Code of Ethics and Conduct.
  • Must be cognizant of the rules and regulations of the facility for the safety and welfare of the staff and members and enforce them when necessary.
  • Must be able to work well under pressure and meet all deadlines.
  • Adhere to all stated policies and procedures.
  • Attend pre-meal meetings as requested by dining room supervisor.

Requirements

Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required:

Education: Attending high school, GED program, or equivalent.

Skills:
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Strong communication and cooperative skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to interact with a large and varied group of people including members and potential members in a professional and courteous manner.

Knowledge and Certificates: Prior experience preferred but not required.

Experience: Customer service experience preferred but not required.

Physical Demands of Work Environment: The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met and/or encountered by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Requires indoor and outdoor work.
  • Schedule and times are usually set but may vary occasionally. Work week is Monday through Sunday.
  • While performing duties of the job, employee is required to stand for most of their shift. Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Employee is required to regularly kneel or crouch, bend, reach overhead and walk.
  • Must be able to pull and lift up to fifteen (15) pounds regularly and occasionally up to forty (40) pounds.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.

Machines/Equipment/Tools used:
  • Uniform required (Club provided).
  • Two retractable pens, crumber, wine key, lighter, side towel and name tag (Club supplied).
