Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a
Senior Wintel System Administrator to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will support the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This individual is responsible for supporting the Core Services team for operations and engineering. The Senior Wintel engineer will support the operations and maintenance of the Wintel operating systems.
Day to Day Work Responsibilities: Installing, configuring, and maintaining Wintel servers - Participate in incident management activities for Wintel servers
- Configuring and maintain successful backups for Wintel servers
- Participate in defining Wintel server requirements, acquisition, installation, and configuration
- Knowledge of Microsoft administration tools
- Participate in the documentation of activities, system changes, procedures, policies, and standards for the Wintel architecture
- Setting up and maintaining Wintel server accounts
- Manage installation and integration of system fixes, updates, and provide configuration and enhancements
- Involved in implementation of security measures on Wintel servers
- Provide technical expertise, respond to taskings, etc.
- Work closely with IT operation delivery teams, project managers, solution engineers and government counterparts to ensure approved scheduled maintenance is completed
- Interact with the customer on an as needed basis regarding Wintel servers
- Communicate status of ongoing work and any issues that arise to management in a timely manner
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications - Bachelor degree and 16 years' experience or Associate degree and 18 years' experience or HS diploma/equivalent and 20 years' experience
- U.S. Citizenship required; Must have the ability to obtain a DHS Entrance on Duty (EOD) clearance
- Expertise in IT infrastructure
- Expertise with Core Services Microsoft Windows (Wintel)
- Expertise with Wintel servers
- Strong understanding of change, release, and configuration management
- Knowledge of Client business environment and requirements
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent teamwork skills
- Exceptional problem-solving capabilities and use of judgment
- Ability to work effectively and a self-starter
Preferred Qualifications - Knowledge of ServiceNow
- Knowledge of security fundamentals
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals
- Knowledge of cloud operations
- Possess an Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundations 4 certification or the ability to obtain within one month

Target Salary Range
$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
