The Role:
Treasure Data is seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Senior UX Researcher to shape the user experience of our intelligent Customer Data platform and the user research discipline within our growing Product Design team. As the first UX Researcher at the company, you will have a unique opportunity to define how we understand our users-designing the frameworks, processes, and tools that bring their voices into everything we build. You will also lead high-impact research initiatives that uncover deep user insights and shape the vision, strategy, and usability of our platform.
You'll work across cross-functional teams-including Product, Design, Engineering, and Customer Success-to lead research initiatives that inform product strategy, design decisions, and customer experience. From foundational generative research to usability testing of new features, your insights will help drive the evolution of our intelligent Customer Data Platform (CDP).

You will join an exciting team of doers who are building applications that change the lives of marketers, data engineers, service center agents and the customers they serve.
The core of our design & product management team is located in Mountain View, CA and this position will be based there or somewhere on the West Coast of the U.S. or Canada to accommodate our Japan based Engineering team.
Responsibilities:
- Establish Treasure Data's UX research discipline-defining frameworks, best practices, and standards for research excellence
- Identify and prioritize research needs across teams and help shape the research roadmap in collaboration with Product and Design leadership
- Select and implement the right research tools (e.g., usability testing, survey platforms, repositories) to support a scalable research function
- Plan and execute mixed-method research studies (qualitative and quantitative), including generative, evaluative, and longitudinal research
- Work closely with Customer Success and Sales to identify high-value user segments and personas
- Translate complex user behaviors and data into actionable insights that inform product vision, strategy, and design
- Synthesize complex research findings into clear, actionable insights and communicate them effectively across teams and executive stakeholders
- Advocate for a user-centered approach by educating and influencing cross-functional partners and senior stakeholders
- Develop research artifacts (e.g., personas, journey maps, behavioral models) to align the organization around customer needs
- Partner with Product Analytics to integrate quantitative insights and behavioral data into research
- Mentor designers and PMs on how to incorporate lightweight research methods into their work and democratize research appropriately
- Build and maintain a research repository and knowledge base that can scale with the company
Required Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience in UX research, with demonstrated success in a senior or lead role-ideally as the first researcher or in a startup/scale-up B2B SaaS environment
- Experience establishing or maturing UX research practices within a product organization
- Deep knowledge of both qualitative and quantitative research methods and the ability to adapt them to a variety of contexts and constraints
- Strong organizational and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence product direction and drive alignment
- Comfortable working independently and proactively in a high-growth, fast-paced environment
- Experience in B2B SaaS or enterprise platforms; familiarity with customer data, analytics, or marketing technology is a strong plus
- Exceptional communication skills-verbal, visual, and written
- Proficiency with research tools such as UserTesting, Userytics, Dovetail, Maze, Lookback, Qualtrics, or similar.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Information Science, or a related field-or equivalent practical experience

Working out of the Mountain View, California office according to our "Global Hybrid Working Policy."
