Angove Partners are working with a leading specialty insurer seeking a Senior Professional Liability Underwriter to drive growth within their US Financial Lines division. This organisation has a strong international presence and are expanding rapidly across multiple commercial lines. They are looking for an experienced individual ready to make an immediate impact, and take on this role within their Atlanta office.


What is the role?


As a Senior Underwriter, you will play a crucial role in assessing and underwriting Professional Liability risks. Leveraging your expertise, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining a balanced portfolio, and their pre-existing relationships with Wholesale and Retail brokers across the US.


What will you be doing?


  • You will be responsible for reviewing and underwriting complex Professional Liability risks, developing pricing and risk strategies, and building and maintaining strong relationships with brokers and clients.
  • Analyze market trends, emerging risks, and regulatory changes impacting Professional Liability insurance, adjusting underwriting strategies accordingly.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients, providing expert guidance on corporate governance risks, liability exposures, and insurance solutions.
  • Work closely with the wider underwriting team to establish and refine underwriting standards, pricing models, and coverage structures.
  • Participate in the development of new E&O, MPL, LPL, A&E, Tech E&O/Cyber products or enhancements to existing offerings, staying informed on industry advancements.
  • Monitor and analyze portfolio performance, ensuring profitability and sustainable growth.

What do you need to apply for this role?


  • 3-6 years of experience in Professional Liability underwriting, with a proven track record of profitable growth.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess complex financial and operational risks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong broker, client, and other stakeholder relationships.
  • Results-driven and proactive, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
