Robert Half is working with a client seeking an outstanding Senior Attorney who is admitted to the State Bar of California and possesses a minimum of 7 years of experience in estate planning, probate, trust administration, wealth transfer planning, and estate/gift tax matters. The ideal candidate will support the established Estate Planning Practice Group, helping to manage and grow the practice using our robust base of existing clients and partner referrals. This role does not require the candidate to bring an existing book of business, offering an incredible opportunity to focus on high-quality legal work and client relationship building. In addition to technical expertise, the candidate should exhibit strong writing, analytical, and communication skills, as well as a commitment to developing a long-term career in estate planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert legal counsel on all aspects of estate planning, including drafting wills, trusts, and other key documentation.
- Handle complex probate and trust administration cases from start to finish.
- Manage and execute sophisticated wealth transfer planning strategies tailored to individual and family client needs.
- Prepare and assist with estate and gift tax filings, ensuring compliance with current laws and strategic tax planning approaches.
- Collaborate with and support the Estate Planning Practice Group, while independently managing both assigned and acquired casework.
- Build and nurture strong, long-lasting relationships with the firm's clients, ensuring client satisfaction and retention.
- Efficiently handle referrals from the firm's partners to develop and maintain a steady workflow of new cases.
- Stay current on legal developments within estate planning, taxation, and probate law to provide clients with strategic advice.
Qualifications:
- Bar Admission: Active member in good standing of the State Bar of California.
- Experience: A minimum of 7+ years of relevant legal experience in estate planning, probate, trust administration, wealth transfer planning, and estate/gift tax areas.
- Skills: Exceptional legal writing, analytical thinking, and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to independently manage a caseload and deliver high-quality results on time.
- A strong desire to build and cultivate a long-term estate planning practice within the firm.
