Senior Telecommunications Technician with Security Clearance

What you will be doing. As a Senior Telecommunications Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring safety today and smarter solutions for tomorrow. Our team depends on a Telecommunications Technician III to provide 24/7 monitoring of mission infrastructure, notification services, administrative support, logging, ticketing, and reporting for the systems we support. In this role, you will utilize various tools provided by Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and clients, including databases, displays, logs, Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documents, and Knowledge Base (KB) articles. Your responsibilities will include identifying and validating event data, taking administrative actions as specified in SOPs and KBs, tracking events through ticketing systems, and ensuring timely notification and routing of issues to the appropriate support teams. Additionally, the Infrastructure Facility Support Division (IFSD) coordinates with ISP and client personnel for situational awareness and support actions, as well as with customers and support staff to notify and respond to event activities. IFSD personnel are also responsible for performing updates on routers and switches to support security measures. Job Description / Requirements: Performs installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications systems. Provide 24/7 mission and infrastructure monitoring, notification, administrative support, logging, ticketing, and reporting for supported systems. Coordinates with both ISP and client watch staff for situational awareness and support actions, and with customers and support personnel to provide notification and response to event activity Perform router and switch updates in support of security actions. Must be able to work Eves Sun-Thurs 2 pm-10 pm, or Mids Sun-Thurs 10 pm-6am Education and Experience: High School or Equivalent and 20 years experience or Bachelors and 15 years experience Certifications: (IAT Level 2) or higher Clearance Required: Must possess an active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph security clearance to be considered for this role Independent Software is an Equal Opportunity Employer EOE, M/F/D/V.
