Senior Technical Program Manager, AmazonAPI

Are you looking for an opportunity to move fast and make a big impact? Do you want to help make shopping experiences even better for our customers? AmazonAPI is looking for an innovative and customer-obsessed Senior Technical Program Manager (Sr TPM) to lead large, complex and cross-functional engineering programs spanning Amazon's worldwide shopping ecosystem. We power experiences like Search, Detail Page, Personalization, Cart and Checkout across all platforms including mobile and voice shopping. You will shape and drive programs that deliver 100% of the experience builder's data needs anywhere over the secure, external facing, and singular data plane.

This position requires regular communication with executive management on status, risks and product strategy. Excellent listening, writing skills and strong technical competency are essential. The ideal candidate should focus clearly on both delivery and customers. You should have experience managing multiple complete product development cycles, possess highly respected innovative abilities and expert product judgment.

We will help you grow your already awesome skills: Building a great vision and leading a program to realize and deliver it. Finding inventive ways to solve seemingly impossible problems, and being great at balancing and prioritizing (and re-prioritizing) projects.

About the team: AmazonAPI's mission is to be the authoritative data plane for the website. Our goal is to be the one stop shop for any team's store data needs at Amazon. This means we provide APIs for all different types of data such as product data, customer data, deals data, etc. Our service's traffic has doubled every year and it processes millions of transactions every second. We work on problems like building strongly typed client libraries, improving the developer experience, networking, caching, data security and how to run our platform efficiently and effectively.

  1. 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
  2. 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
  3. Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
  4. 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
  5. Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
  6. Technical depth and breadth to make technical tradeoff decisions, often with incomplete data.
