Senior Technical Field Application Engineer

ROHM Semiconductor USA, LLC is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of "Senior Technical Field Application Engineer" at its Novi, Michigan location.

The Senior Technical Field Application Engineer position is responsible for using and applying technical knowledge and engineering expertise to develop and drive business plans to deliver the Company's semiconductor products (i.e., Silicon Carbide MOSFET Isolated Gated Drivers, Power Management Integrated Circuits) and electronics applications to customers and clients within the automotive industry.

Specifically, the job duties of the Senior Technical Field Application Engineer position include: (1) overseeing automotive-related customer accounts and providing premium customer service on technical engineering matters for automotive customers and prospective customers; (2) driving and expanding the Company's semiconductor business growth within the automotive industry; (3) using technical engineering expertise to identify, offer and implement different designs or modifications of ROHM Semiconductor's products to large automotive clients; (4) consulting with internal and external stakeholders (i.e., engineers, architects and other technical professionals) regarding the Company's products and identifying technical adaptations to suit customer needs; (5) establishing, developing and maintaining close relationships with new and existing automotive customers; (6) presenting ROHM Semiconductor's analog and power semiconductors to key design engineers; (7) providing product quotes on customer projects; (8) documenting targeted business opportunities to expand ROHM Semiconductor's opportunity pipeline within the automotive industry; (9) working with internal stakeholders to provide technical expertise and engineering knowledge to develop and capture new business; (10) negotiating significant annual and long-term agreements for ROHM Semiconductor's engineered products with multi-national corporations; (11) developing technical strategies with team members to achieve long-term product goals; (12) maintaining current knowledge base of the ROHM Semiconductor's technical product specifications in order to identify and distinguish the technical engineering merits of one product over another (including the technical pros, cons and uses of other semiconductor products available on the market); and (13) drafting and presenting technical engineering presentations, engineering calculations, product adaptations, data sheets and company-competitor reports.

Finally, the Senior Technical Field Application Engineer position utilizes and applies an applicant's Engineering background, particularly when developing strategies for new products which includes finalizing product specifications, assessing/benchmarking of competitor products and performance, and interfacing with customers to explain the specific technical features and capabilities of a ROHM product and enhancing or adapting the performance of ROHM Semiconductor products (e.g., analog and power semiconductors) to fit the customer's needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified candidates must possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology or related field of study. In addition, qualified candidates must possess 60 months of experience in a technical role such as Field Applications Engineer, Sales Engineer, Electronics Engineer or related position within semiconductor, electronics or automotive industries.

Qualified candidates must also have technical engineering knowledge regarding automotive electronics, ADAS, power management, electrification, vehicle infotainment, body electronics and critical analysis concepts.

Finally, travel up to 30% (including domestic travel and international travel to Mexico).
