Robert Half is partnering with a growing company in Highlands Ranch to hire a Senior Technical Accountant.
This role is 100% remote. They ideally would like to hire someone in the Greater Denver Metro area, but they are open to hiring anywhere in the country for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and/or review monthly reconciliations for various accounts including but not limited to cash in transit, cash, inventory, fixed assets and intangibles, and lease accounts.
Leases:
- Ensure proper ASC 842 accounting is being applied across our 100+ leases.
- Assist in maintaining accurate lease records in our lease software, Occupier.
- Work cross functionally with our real estate manager and with our consultants at Occupier.
- Review monthly rent payments are accurate.
- Establish and maintain controls.
- Review related financial statement disclosures.
- Create SOPs and flowchart for lease accounting process, documenting key controls within the process.
Treasury Processes:
- Set up/review wires and ACHs when needed.
- Review weekly Accounts Payable ACHs.
- Establish and maintain controls around cash management and payment approvals.
- Create SOPs and flowchart for treasury and cash accounting process, documenting key controls within the process.
- Oversee all fixed assets, intangible assets, and work in progress.
- Complete monthly entries and reconciliations
- Create capitalization policy
- Complete monthly and quarterly reporting
- Repair and maintenance accrual monthly
- Assist with tax reporting needs
Technical accounting:
- Research any technical accounting issues that arise and provide guidance on how to account for the items. Work cross functionally to create process to ensure accounting gets the information needed to properly account for transactions.
- Write technical accounting memos for multiple areas including but not limited to leases (842) and revenue (606) and disposals.
- Create and maintain process memos and controls in any areas overseeing or involved in, including but not limited to revenue, cash, inventory, fixed assets.
- Maintaining the general ledger accounts and ensuring effectiveness and accuracy.
- Assist with audit preparation.
- Preform ad hoc research and analysis, spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending.
- Assist with tax filings and payments.
- Improve processes to be more efficient and accurate.
- Assist in financial statement preparation and monthly analytic reviews.
- Assist in cash flow analysis and projections.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- 3 to 4 years' experience in accounting or 2 to 3 years in public accounting.
- Strong communication and analytical skills.
- Proficient in ASC 842 and ASC 606.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge.
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, always changing environment.
- Preferred CPA or pursuing CPA.
- Preferred NetSuite experience.
- Preferred experience with lease software, Occupier.
