The professional hired will proactively partner within the tax team and numerous functional teams across the organization. Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of sales & use and property tax compliance and filings.
- Oversee managing and providing data to outside service providers to ensure timely filing of all tax compliance filings.
- Managing and providing data with analysis to internal teams such as accounting, projection and forecasting, operational and asset management, investment, etc.
- Perform indirect tax diligence pertaining to new acquisitions, new construction, and early buyouts of solar energy projects.
- Lead discussions with a variety of teams to understand the scope of new transactions in order to provide the proper guidance from an indirect tax perspective.
- Remain abreast of current tax developments and effectively apply tax knowledge to business transactions.
- Research new sales and use tax laws and regulations.
- Lead special tax projects.
- Establish and refine tax policies, processes, and system workflows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or Finance.
- 7 years' experience in state and local tax matters.
- Proficiency in use of state and local tax compliance software (with a strong preference for Vertex).
- Legal research software and suite of Microsoft Office program experience.
- Experience with US state and local tax compliance for large corporations.
