Job Title: Senior Tax Manager
FLSA Classification: Exempt/Salary
Department: Accounting
Reports To: Chief Financial Officer

OVERVIEW:

The Tax Manager will ensure state and federal tax documents are prepared and filed in a timely manner. The Tax Manager will develop solutions for potential tax issues, keeping abreast of new developments in tax legislation, and informing staff of new legislative developments. They will also advise on tax planning, tax research, and tax compliance.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Accurately prepare and filing sales and use, motor fuels and property tax returns in a timely manner.
  • Managing outside tax processor.
  • Managing income tax planning process with outside tax firm.
  • Developing tax strategies to assist the company with tax mitigation and tax compliance.
  • Managing tax audits.
  • Monitoring and reporting developments in tax legislation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Skills and Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Bachelor's degree in accounting, taxation, finance, business, or related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), EA or related license.
  • Proven experience as a tax manager, public accountant, or similar role.
  • The ability to work with different taxation software.
  • Extensive knowledge of tax legislation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Sound problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with tax research software.
