Senior CPA Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with deep expertise in tax preparation, tax planning, estate planning, business valuation, forensic accounting, litigation support, and the preparation of both business and personal financial statements. The ideal candidate will also have proficiency in conducting comprehensive check-Ups to optimize client operations and financial health.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review corporate, partnership, trust, individual and non-profit federal and state tax returns.
- Prepare and review payroll, property and other miscellaneous required filings.
- Utilize Checkpoint research library tools to find solutions to client tax issues.
- Recognize, anticipate and resolve tax issues and make recommendations.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of federal and state income tax laws.
- Review tax work of other accountants.
- May meet with clients.
- Train, mentor and/or delegate tasks to other team members (3-5 people).
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- CPA (required).
- 7+ years of experience in preparation and review of corporate, partnership, individual, trust, estate and non-profit returns (required).
- Knowledge of QuickBooks (preferred).
- Knowledge of Lacerte Tax (preferred).
- Strong technical knowledge
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must be self-directed
