Join us as a Senior Tax Analyst.
A private client within a finance house is currently recruiting a Senior Tax Analyst to join the Controllers function supporting the tax department. In this role, the Senior Tax Analyst is mainly responsible for the preparation of complex high net-worth individual tax returns for the firm's partners; preparation and maintenance of detailed workpapers; written and oral communication with partners regarding personal tax matters; communication with tax authorities and responding to tax inquiries as well as handling individual tax audits; preparation of certain entity level federal, state and local tax returns.
Key Responsibilities:
Tax Preparation
- Preparation of individual partner tax returns (form 1040) and trust tax returns (form 1041) including gathering and analysis of data.
- Preparation of quarterly estimated tax forms.
- Preparation of various business-related tax returns/forms (i.e., sales & use tax returns, business property tax returns, other partnership/entity level tax forms or schedules)
- Preparation of year-end tax projections.
- Preparation of quarterly and year-end tax accruals.
- Ensure timely and accurate filing and payment of all associated taxes, estimated taxes, and withholdings.
- Assist in researching and implementing tax planning ideas for the partners.
Tax Research
- Research complex tax issues.
- Research and analyse impact of new tax laws, regulations, and rulings.
- Responsibility for various special tax projects.
- Ability to communicate new tax saving opportunities or tax law changes.
Other Ad-hoc tasks:
- Reviewing basic to moderate level tax returns.
- Resolution of notices/issue through correspondence with federal and/or state tax authorities.
- Assist with management of partner tax audits including gathering and preparation of information to respond to tax authority requests, and administrative tasks of audits.
- Research tax issues resulting from audits and any current matters requiring resolution.
Qualifications:
- 8-12+ years of tax experience (accounting firm experience highly preferred).
- BA/BS degree required (MS in Tax preferred).
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local personal income taxes, non-resident withholding taxes for high-net-worth individuals.
- Strong knowledge of Pro-systems and BNA tax software.
- Knowledge of Partnership Tax and Corporate Tax.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment.
- Organized and detail oriented.
Salary Range
$125,000-$145,000
