Sr. Systems Storage Administration Associate is responsible for overseeing hardware and software systems with a focus on storage area network administration. This role ensures compliance with security policies, manages system utilization, and maintains reliable data backup and recovery processes. The administrator will also develop automated environments for reporting and notifications, allocate storage, and provide technical support while coordinating activities and maintaining documentation. Duties may include: Provides technical oversight of hardware and software systems, with a focus on storage area network administration. Provides professional service within the parameters specified in the site's service level agreement and/or that meet or exceed the customer requirements. Ensures system security is in compliance with customer policy including patching and auditing. Implements and maintains network standards and guidelines. Monitors system utilization including data storage management, performance metrics and service levels. Ensures reliable backup and recovery of necessary data. Develops and maintains an automated environment including reporting, event notifications and actions, software updates and service packs. Reports on capacity and does proactive planning for additional storage. Allocates storage to servers, configuring fiber channel switches, and capacity planning for the SAN, in addition to OS level support related to implementing and maintaining system security and data recovery processes, providing technical support, utilizing automation tools for delivering applications, managing assets, monitoring performance, event notifications and automating desktop support. Coordinates and communicates activities, status updates, outage notifications and schedule information. Performs account maintenance. Ensures reliable backup and recovery of necessary data. Troubleshoots network communications. Maintains and documents SAN cabling plans. Installs, configures, administers, and optimizes servers (hardware and operating systems). Interfaces with users is an integral part of this role. Maintains network system documentation.
