The Interface Engineer will lead the development of Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and Interface Design Documents (IDDs), including establishing new interfaces between external elements (e.g., sensors) and Command and Control Systems. Responsibilities include: Authoring and maintaining ICDs and IDDs to program standards
Developing behavioral diagrams and requirements captured in DOORS
Participating in interface working groups with MDA and external engineering organizations
Supporting integration and test efforts
Possibly assisting other engineers on different BMDS elements, requirements engineering, use case development, and logical architecture modeling
Ensuring timely delivery of interface artifacts and system assessment tasks Experience Required: 9+ years in Systems Engineering or a related discipline
Strong experience authoring DID-compliant ICDs and IDDs per DoD standards
Background in Missile Defense System (MDS) and complex Command and Control Systems is highly desirable Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of systems engineering principles and process
Requirements elicitation and behavioral diagram development (use cases, sequence/activity diagrams)
Expertise in interface engineering (message formatting, network protocols, ISO OSI model, etc.)
Experience with IBM Rational DOORS
Familiarity with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Agile/Iterative development methods
Excellent written and verbal communication skills Education: Bachelor's Degree in Math, Science, Engineering, or Software Engineering
Master's Degree in an Engineering discipline preferred
Secret clearance is required
