We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the development of high-performance subsystems, including: Stabilized Turret Drive Systems Integrated Weapon Systems Ammunition Handling Data Control & Distribution Power Management Systems This role is based in Santa Barbara, California, and is fully onsite with a 9/80 work schedule, offering every other Friday off and a comprehensive benefits package. Key Responsibilities Provide systems engineering support through all lifecycle stages: design, development, integration, test, and verification of electro-mechanical systems. Interface with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders to define component and subsystem specifications. Define software and hardware interfaces across subsystems. Develop and document advanced turret fire control algorithms. Model linear and nonlinear system dynamics using MATLAB/Simulink. Lead lab-based and field testing activities. Generate technical documents including system requirements, test plans, and reports. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to multi-disciplinary development teams. Travel occasionally for field and customer support as required. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree (BS) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field with emphasis in Control Systems and Signal Processing. 5-10 years of experience in systems engineering within defense, aerospace, or related electro-mechanical industries. Experience designing classical and modern control systems. Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink for modeling and simulation. Strong background in signal processing and data analysis. Hands-on experience working directly with both hardware and software components. Ability to access US export-controlled information. Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible to obtain a DoD security clearance. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree (MS) in Control Systems and Signal Processing. Experience designing and testing turret fire control systems or similar defense programs. Familiarity with DoD systems engineering processes and documentation.
