We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to provide technical expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Command and Control (C2)
- Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR), Electronic Warfare (EW), Information Warfare (IW), and to Tactical integration (NTI)
- Communications
- Cloud Computing
- Cybersecurity Engineering
With minimal oversight, this position assesses, plans, coordinates, schedules, and supports moderately sized projects to determine technical capability and feasibility. Successful candidates will demonstrate proficiency in detailed information gathering, requirements analysis, and system evaluation, testing, and verification to support the design, development, and deployment of mission critical capabilities. In this position, you will function as technical advisor to many levels of Government and contractor personnel. You will collaborate and coordinate with cross-functional teams regarding policies, procedures, and practices. Exceptional oral and written communication skills are necessary to effectively manage projects in this environment. Offer contingent upon contract award.
Duties and Responsibilities: - Provide specialized technical expertise and engineering activities to projects including requirements analysis, functional analysis, design solutions formulation, systems analysis and control, support to generation and maintenance of systems architecture products requirements definition, architecture design, data analysis, and continuous verification and validation of requirements from concept to transition
- Provide engineering technical assessments to evaluate engineering design, technical complexity, requirements definition, gap alignment, and risks
- Apply system engineering principles and procedures to translate quantified needs/requirements into system performance parameters and the identification of system/item configuration.
- Formulate and issue systems engineering documents, processes, procedures, and milestones
- Translate military operational and mission requirements into practical system concepts and performance specifications.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation such as specifications, engineering drawings, system interface requirements, and engineering changes
- Analyze information requirements
- Assist in the coordination and execution of Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR) activities and events
- Conduct requirements analysis, configuration item analysis, and impact analysis, and provide analysis reports
- Assess potential technical challenges, dependencies, and limitations associated with projects; develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans
- Review and provide feedback on design specifications, architecture diagrams, user manuals, technical guides, accreditation documentation, etc.
- Identify design issues and recommend corrective actions
- Analyze performance data and propose improvements to enhance project reliability, efficiency, or user experience
- Support the development and execution of testing and verification methodologies
- Analyze feedback from users during test and demonstration events
- Establish and enforce technical standards and governance practices
- Review project compliance with technical specifications and standards for scalability, maintainability, performance, and security
- Prepare technical recommendations, reports, briefings, and executive summaries
- Stay at the forefront of emerging technologies and industry trends
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering their professional growth and the exchange of knowledge
- Establish effective lines of communication and collaboration with stakeholders, contractors, and partners
Minimum Qualifications and Experience: - Education: Bachelors degree in science, computer science, or engineering or 10 years experience as a system engineer in lieu of a degree
- Experience: Six (6) years of progressive engineering experience with a strong focus on ISR, EW, IW, and to Tactical integration systems, including:
- Development of acquisition documentation, testing criteria, corrective action systems, project monitoring approaches, and project status reports
- Data collection and analysis
- Comprehensive knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and DoD procurement policies and procedures
- Effective communication capabilities, both written and verbal, adept at conveying complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
- An active and in-scope TS/SCI security clearance is required
- Must be a US
Desired Qualifications: - In-depth familiarity with and military intelligence programs and capabilities
- Experience with to Tactical integration principles, methodologies, and tools, including hands-on experience in signal collection, processing, and analysis
- Strong grasp of cybersecurity standards, design, deployment, and monitoring
- Experience designing or implementing solutions in Azure, AWS, or other FedRamp approved cloud environment
- Experience leading/managing cross functional teams
- Demonstrated proficiency in applying systems engineering principles
- Ability to adapt to fast paced and changing environment
- Experience preparing and delivering presentations and briefings to senior leaders and executives
- Must be detail oriented and highly organized, able to manage priorities to meet deadline
- Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency with Systems Engineering Management Process and Implementation, throughout all life cycle phases of the DoD Acquisition process; knowledge of DOD policies on Systems Engineering, Integrated Product and Process Development (IPPD) and IPT Management; and ability to coordinate and negotiate design and engineering activities with other related programs and organizations
- Provides expert and authoritative advice affecting critical programs and technologies
