Description

Leidos is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to join our dynamic team in supporting the United States Space Force (USSF). In this role, you will develop software solutions to enhance the Cyber Operations Branch's rapid agile development of defensive cyber capabilities, aimed at safeguarding against cyber threats in both ground and space environments. We are looking for a strategic leader and exceptional problem-solver who can deliver outstanding results as part of a high-performing team in a fast-paced setting.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Support, design, maintain, and monitor internal and external networks.
  • Implement and manage systems, applications, security, and network configurations.
  • Identify and resolve network performance issues while establishing a disaster recovery plan. Recommend necessary upgrades, patches, and new applications or equipment.
  • Provide expert technical support and guidance to users.
  • Utilize professional knowledge and discretion to achieve targeted goals.
  • This position will require privileged access, adhering to DODM 8570.01M restrictions.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related STEM field with 10 years of related experience; or a Master's degree in the same fields with 8 years of experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems, Microsoft Exchange Server, and RHEL operating system administration.
  • Proven experience in effective communication and collaborative work in a high-performance team environment.
  • Expertise in Group Policy design and configuration.
  • Familiarity with CISCO networking, switching, and virtualization technologies.
  • Understanding of virtualization in relation to user environments, operating systems, and network appliances.
  • Knowledge of Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) technologies, along with data backup technologies.
  • Acquainted with communication security (COMSEC) policies and integration.
  • Current relevant experience in IL4 or above network environments/systems.
  • Familiarity with DoD policies related to system and network administration.
  • Knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) as it applies to network/information system environments.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Bash scripting and Python.
  • Possession of CCNA, Security+, CCDE, or DoD 8140 Advanced Proficiency certifications.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Top Secret (TS) security clearance with SCI and SAP eligibility is highly desirable.
  • Experience within DoD or relevant industry roles in the Space Systems Command.
  • Familiarity with Defensive Cyber Operations (SSC/SZWO) program office.

Pay Range: Pay Range $89,700.00 - $162,150.00 The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and does not guarantee specific compensation. Additional factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, and skills will be considered in extending an offer, along with internal equity and market alignment.
