The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos is actively seeking a skilled
Senior System Administrator - HPC to join our dynamic team for an exciting new High-Performance Computing (HPC) program. This role requires a self-motivated individual with exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, a collaborative spirit, and the capacity to enhance the HPC capabilities of our client.
Locations: These positions are onsite. Candidates must be located near Annapolis, MD, or Saratoga Springs, UT, to be eligible for consideration.
Key Responsibilities: - Manage critical infrastructure services, ensuring peak availability and performance of data center services, including both physical and virtual server-class systems, as well as storage solutions.
- Lead medium to large scale projects, design and implement system policies, perform advanced troubleshooting, and play a crucial role in recovery efforts during system failures.
- Mentor and guide Tier I/II/III staff members.
- Work independently and collaboratively within a larger team to achieve project deadlines.
Essential Qualifications: - Must possess a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
- IAT Level II Certification required. Acceptable professional IAT Level II certifications include RHCSA or higher Red Hat certification and/or VMware certification.
- A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field with twelve (12) years of experience in a complex IT environment, or a master's degree with ten (10) years of experience. Alternatively, in lieu of a bachelor's degree, five (5) years of full-time computer science experience and at least ten (10) years in a large and complex IT environment is acceptable, along with an industry-recognized professional certification that may substitute for one (1) year of experience.
- Proven experience in installation, configuration, tuning, and support of:
- Multi-vendor servers supporting a variety of COTS, open-source, and in-house applications to meet HPC division IT support needs.
- Multi-vendor servers operating Red Hat or SUSE with direct attached, FC SAN storage or SSDs.
- Distributed computing tools such as RES, LSF, and SLURM.
- HPC farm systems and clustered MPP HPC systems.
- Blade servers from IBM or HP with FC/SAS/Network backend.
- Multi-vendor file systems including XFS, GPFS, and Lustre.
- Pre-factory testing, factory testing, system integration, and acceptance testing during the acquisition of HPC systems.

Pay Range: Pay Range $112,450.00 - $203,275.00 The Leidos pay range for this job level serves as a general guideline.
