System Administrator to contribute to our Chief Information Security Office within the Digital Modernization sector. This role is based at our Liberty Center location in Chantilly, VA. To qualify, candidates must possess a
TS/SCI clearance and demonstrate the ability to pass and maintain a polygraph clearance.
Your Role and Responsibilities: In this impactful position, you will leverage your expertise in Microsoft Server and Workstation planning, engineering, and design while supporting multiple mission contracts. Your daily focus will revolve around the modernization of our interconnected WANs, championing customer requirements, and effectively integrating acquired and merged assets. You will play a pivotal role in the technical design, planning, and implementation of high-performing systems. As a technical expert, you will analyze operating systems and applications, providing insightful recommendations for optimization. Key responsibilities include investigating system requirements, developing specifications, and managing projects to deliver exceptional service to our internal and external customers.
- Collaborate closely with the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) to ensure compliance with Government standards.
- Execute patch and security configuration tasks to ensure Windows endpoints remain secure and updated.
- Document progress and communicate updates effectively to relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain and configure local area networks (LAN) and support wide area networks (WAN). Set up and deploy Windows servers, OS workstations, and client software in a network domain environment.
- Oversee backup solutions, disaster recovery plans, and ensure continuous system availability.
- Stay current with new technologies through training and hands-on experience.
Basic Qualifications: - A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent experience (12+ years) and certifications may be accepted in lieu of a degree, with alternative pathways considered (Associate degree plus 14+ years or High School diploma/GED with 16+ years).
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active Top Secret SCI clearance and the willingness to pass a polygraph examination.
- Mandatory DOD 8570 IAM Level 1 / IAT Level 2 certification.
- Proven experience in System Administration within a Windows desktop and Server environment.
- Strong communication, documentation, and presentation skills are essential.
- Experience in patching and remediating vulnerability findings.
- Solid expertise in Windows server management, particularly with Group Policy.
- Familiarity with Active Directory Server, DNS, and Exchange Servers.
- Experience with Windows 10, 11, Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022.
- Experience managing and maintaining workstation, server, and printer hardware.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Experience with enterprise patching solutions.
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with Exchange Server.
- Knowledge of storage solutions such as NetApp or EMC.
- Experience configuring multiple Active Directory forests and Group Policies.
- Prior experience in Government IT support roles.
- Familiarity with Multifactor Authentication (MFA).
Compensation: The anticipated pay range for this position is between $112,450.00 and $203,275.00. This range serves as a guideline and factors may influence actual compensation, including job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, and market data conformity.
