Overview
We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Senior Strategic Sourcing Analyst to join our Procurement team. This role will be instrumental in developing sourcing strategies, strengthening supplier partnerships, and leading initiatives that drive value across assigned categories. You'll work closely with various departments to ensure procurement aligns with overall business objectives, bringing a strategic and analytical approach to sourcing decisions.
As part of this role, you'll guide stakeholders in shaping category strategies, manage supplier evaluation and negotiation processes, and oversee supplier relationships. You will also play a key role in identifying improvement opportunities, streamlining procurement activities, and fostering continuous supplier performance improvement. Staying informed about market trends and communicating insights to stakeholders will be essential to ensuring procurement remains aligned with business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement sourcing strategies for designated categories in alignment with company goals
- Perform industry research and market analysis to uncover cost-saving and efficiency opportunities
- Lead supplier negotiations, contract development, and relationship management to achieve optimal outcomes
- Monitor supplier performance against agreed KPIs and address performance gaps proactively
- Serve as a liaison between Procurement and internal teams such as R&D, IT, HR, Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain
- Identify supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies to maintain operational continuity
- Evaluate emerging procurement technologies and practices to recommend process improvements
- Oversee RFP processes, assess supplier proposals, and guide selection decisions
- Track procurement value delivery, cost savings, and supplier compliance metrics
- Look for opportunities to consolidate purchasing across departments to leverage better pricing
- Ensure adherence to procurement regulations, internal policies, and quality standards
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives within the sourcing process
- May specialize in specific categories, commodities, or procurement functions
- (Preferred) Experience managing third-party supplier risk assessments
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or related field-or equivalent professional experience
- Minimum of 4 years of procurement or sourcing experience, ideally within the life sciences, biotech, or pharmaceutical sectors
- Experience using ERP systems; familiarity with contract management tools is a plus
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Demonstrated expertise in category strategy development and supplier management
- Proficiency in negotiation and contract management for services, goods, and capital equipment
- Hands-on experience with platforms such as Coupa, Smartsheet, Power BI, and Microsoft Office tools
- Analytical problem-solving mindset with a customer-centric approach
- Ability to foster productive partnerships internally and externally
- Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma or prior involvement in process improvement initiatives
