Position Summary

Doane University is seeking a Senior Strategic Data Analyst to lead efforts in leveraging data for strategic decision-making and long-term planning. This role involves analyzing complex datasets, advising leadership on data-driven growth, and designing advanced data models and reporting systems. The Senior Strategic Data Analyst will also mentor junior analysts, guide data governance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement data initiatives.

Salary
Salary is commensurate with experience and falls within the range of $86,000 to $91,000

Minimum Required Qualifications

A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required, along with at least five years of experience in:
  • Data Analysis and Manipulation, Data Visualization and Business Intelligence, Statistical Analysis and Predictive Modeling, Data Warehousing and Big Data, Data Integration, ETL, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Analytics, Data Governance and Management, Reporting and Automation
  • Developing and managing complex data models and dashboard systems
  • Supporting leadership in data-driven decision-making
Experience must demonstrate:
  • Expertise in data analysis, modeling, and statistical techniques
  • Ability to provide actionable insights through advanced data storytelling and visualization
  • Proficiency in data governance, ensuring data quality, security, and accessibility
  • Ability to communicate complex data concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills with the ability to guide junior staff and train departments on data literacy
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL, database query languages, and cloud-based data platforms
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations in higher education (e.g., FERPA, HIPAA, GLBA)
  • Knowledge of institutional data governance frameworks and practices
  • Demonstrated ability to align data initiatives with institutional strategy and goals
