About the Team The Machine Learning team at CNN Digital is uniquely positioned as a force multiplier across the organization. With deep domain expertise, advanced technical capabilities, and a proven track record of successful collaborations, we are poised to accelerate CNN's digital transformation through strategic applications of ML and AI technologies. Our current products include popular, related and personalized recommendations, contextual ad targeting, and site search-serving millions of CNN users via CNN web and mobile apps. We are close to launching our first product application of Gen AI with our editorial team. The team is also expanding into cross-functional collaborations with Broadcast and broader WBD teams while leading the exploration and evaluation of Gen AI for Digital use cases. Our "multiplier" approach allows our team to have outsized organizational impact by providing domain expertise, enabling teams, collaborating deeply, and building shared infrastructure.
About the Job/Responsibilities As an AI Solutions Architect on the team, you will serve as a trusted partner to leadership, providing strategic and technical guidance across initiatives. This senior staff level position is critical to our 2025 vision of evolving from a reactive service model to proactive partnerships with ML/AI integrated throughout the organization. You will:
- Act as a thought partner and strategic advisor to ML/AI leadership, helping shape direction and translate complex ML concepts across engineering, product, and editorial teams
- Support our transformation of digital team partnerships through embedded collaboration and proactive engagement
- Build reusable tooling, demos, and documentation to enable successful adoption of ML capabilities
- Help develop and implement shared infrastructure such as a feature store, RAG pipelines, and AI tooling
- Lead cross-functional engagements, reducing communication burden on ICs while ensuring aligned execution
- Guide exploration, evaluation, and implementation of Large Language Models (LLMs) and other AI technologies
- Develop internal education programs to elevate AI literacy across CNN Digital and partner organizations
- Create proof-of-concept implementations that demonstrate potential value and feasibility
- Support our strategic partnerships with Digital Teams, Broadcast, and WBD
The Essentials - Master's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or related technical field
- 8+ years of industry experience, with 5+ years of relevant machine learning experience
- Demonstrated success translating complex ML/AI concepts to diverse stakeholders
- Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills
- Experience as a technical lead or advisor guiding teams in AI adoption
- Strong programming experience with Python, and familiarity with other relevant languages
- Practical experience with Machine Learning, NLP, Recommendation/Ranking Systems
- Proven track record of collaborative problem-solving across technical and non-technical teams
- Experience with NoSQL and relational databases and proficiency with SQL
- Background in designing and implementing ML solutions in production environments
- Experience with RAG pipelines, feature stores, or embedding infrastructure
- Understanding of experimentation frameworks and A/B testing methodologies
The Nice to Haves - Familiarity with MLOps practices and tools for model deployment and monitoring
- Background in media, publishing, or content recommendation systems
- Experience developing educational materials or training programs for technical topics
- Previous experience in technical advocacy, solutions engineering, or developer relations
- Demonstrated passion for AI ethics and responsible implementation practices

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $159,600.00 - $296,400.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
