We are looking for Senior Software Engineer to support our teams in Aurora, CO. In this role, you will use your solid foundation in Java and experience working in a Linux environment to comprehend customer needs and translate those needs into viable design solutions. What You Will Do:

• Develop and maintain Java-based backend applications for satellite ground systems.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement robust server-side solutions.

• Modify and improve existing codebases for enhanced performance and scalability.

• Conduct software design and code reviews, integrating best practices and innovations.

• Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, ensuring adherence to Agile principles.

• Participate in system integration and project milestone completion under guidance from supervisors.

• Keep abreast of advancements in Java and related technologies to drive continuous innovation. What You Will Learn

• Modern DevOps and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery techniques.

• Software lifecycle practices for defense projects.

• The importance and workings of satellite ground systems. This is a 12 Month full time Contract or Contract to hire opportunity. This position requires Active Secret Clearance. The Ideal candidate will have:

• A bachelor's degree in science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and six (6) years of relevant software engineering experience.

• Experience with Java software development (or other object-oriented software language) in a Linux environment. Qualifications We Prefer:

• Java strongly preferred.

• Experience with C and Python.

• Experience working with the Atlassian Tool suite.

• Experience developing software in an Agile and/or DevOps environments.

• Previous work satellite GPS software desirable.

• Experience troubleshooting or debugging software.

• Experience with unit and automated functional test concepts.

• Experience with some area of satellite ground system software such as mission management, planning and scheduling, command and telemetry, satellite operations, or flight dynamics models. Pay Range: $85.00 - $95.00 per hour.
