Job Summary:

This position will integrate systems, build products, and develop software services as a member of a Software Engineering team. Alongside the other team members, this engineer will implement best practices for projects, provide novel solutions to hard problems, rapidly develop prototypes, and reduce ideas to practice. This position will also be asked to participate in bidding activities for new business.

This position will initially be part of a team building software for radar systems. This position may also be responsible for supporting other product lines within Albers Innovation, including plugin development for engineering tools, supporting mission thread integration among various platforms, and developing advanced manufacturing systems including robotics and industrial controls.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Design, document, develop, integrate, and test software according to industry coding standards and practices in various programming languages, including Ruby on Rails, Java, and Rust.

• Develop intuitive user interfaces to control and status advance manufacturing systems.

• Execute complex software tasks with minimal direction and no oversight.

• Provide leadership, direction, oversight, and mentorship of more junior team members

• Participate in requirements development, project estimation, software design/code reviews, algorithm architecture alignment reviews and software performance metrics.

• Apply best practices in automated testing and CI/CD to maximize the team's forward progress

• Keep up to date on the newest technological innovations and apply relevant innovations to our systems

• Deploy and manage production systems (DevOps) and participate in on-call responsibilities

• Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• None, but mentorship of more junior team members is expected

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Good communications and analytical skills required

• High work ethic and commitment

• Experience with the Ruby on Rails or Java/SpringBoot systems, and Linux Operating Systems

• Experience with Agile/Scrum development and tooling

• Experience with modern source control tools and practices

• Experience configuring and using continuous build/integration facilities

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

• Prior experience with radar systems

• Front-end development experience including React, Vue, or related frameworks

• Experience with Containers and Virtualization technologies - configuring, deploying, and managing

• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Azure cloud services

• Establishing and using dependency management, source control, issue tracking, build, and test facilities in a closed or high security environment

• Experience with Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis techniques and tools

• Experience with Modbus, Discrete & Analog Signals

• Experience developing industrial systems, including control and safety interlocks

Education, Experience and Certifications Required:

Minimum:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering or related STEM discipline

• 1-3 years of relevant work experience

• Must be a U.S citizen. Must possess or be able to obtain a Secret security clearance

Preferred:

• Graduate Degree engineering in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering or related discipline

• +3 years of relevant work experience

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

• While primarily an office job, may require time at an integration facility or other location.

• Must be able to lift or push 25 pounds at times.

• Ability to traverse integration & test facility.

• CONUS travel may be required from time to time.

• Willingness to participate in integration and test of industrial systems, including cable, kitting, installation.

The pay range for this role is:

110,000 - 150,000 USD per year (AAHQ-Albers Headquarters)
