About the Role
We're an early-stage, well-funded startup led by a previously unicorn Founder. We're building a tightly integrated hardware + software product in the consumer space with real-time interaction, dynamic UI, and edge intelligence at its core.
As one of our earliest engineers, you'll work across the stack-from cloud services to local device communication-to build the systems that power an entirely new kind of interface. You'll collaborate directly with founders and product leads, shaping core infrastructure and making key architectural decisions from day one.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement backend systems to support real-time user interaction and dynamic content delivery.
- Build APIs and services that communicate with both frontend applications and embedded devices.
- Integrate third-party APIs and inference engines (AI/ML experience is a plus).
- Maintain secure user profiles, session logic, and real-time context pipelines.
- Help architect a scalable, lightweight infrastructure suited for interactive consumer applications.
- Contribute to deployment, observability, and performance optimization.
What You Might Have
- 5+ years building production systems across the stack (e.g., TypeScript/Node, Python, Rust).
- Experience working with real-time architectures (WebSockets, streaming data, etc.).
- Comfort integrating with machine learning pipelines or intelligent decision engines.
- Bonus: Experience with IoT devices, edge computing, or embedded-to-cloud architectures.
- Bonus: Exposure to low-latency media applications, consumer products, or unconventional UX paradigms.
