Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer in a technical leadership role for building sophisticated applications to power our multi-billion dollar enterprise. We are seeking an outstanding engineering talent with the experience to lead the design, solutioning and delivery of large-scale cloud-based applications. You should be product focused and capable of creating solutions that serve the business needs by leveraging leading edge technologies in an innovative and impactful manner.

You must have the ability to communicate upward to supervisors/leadership and laterally to other departments, keeping the organization at large in sync and making sure that your team continues to deliver results. Demonstrate the ability to monitor multiple projects to successful completion, maintaining scope within the time and budget constraints. You will assume technical ownership of Service Provider deliverables and lead their technical resources to ensure deliverables are of high quality, follow our technical standards & best practices and perform at scale. You will set technical standards and develop reusable frameworks to ensure consistent and efficient creation of data capabilities and products.

Required:
•   Minimum 5 years of experience in custom application development on open-source technologies.
•   Hands on Experience and knowledge of Microservice Architecture, Cloud-Native Application Development, Containerization, Event-Driven Architecture.
•   Experience in using Enterprise Integration Patterns with designing, building, and deploying Messaging Solutions.
•   Experience in Server-side Java, REST, SOAP, Spring Cloud, Spring, Spring Boot.
•   Ability to write efficient and robust Java code for high volume applications.
•   Excellent problem solving/troubleshooting skills.
•   Experience working in an Agile environment using Jira.
•   Hands on experience with AWS (EC2, S3).
•   Basic understanding of Jenkins and CI/CD pipelines.
•   Fluent in Git commands and able to do pull request code reviews.
•   Excellent understanding of scalability and failover best practices.
•   Comfortable using the command line. Preferred:
•   Experience in NoSql Databases (MongoDB or Redis).
•   Experience with authoring test cases using a test-driven approach.
•   Experience with monitoring tools like Splunk.
•   Experience with Kafka.
•   Experience with Kubernetes and/or Docker. CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Technical Leadership
•   Trains and/or mentors other team members, and peers as appropriate.
•   Provides financial input on department or project budgets, capital expenditures or other cost/resource estimates as requested.
•   Identifies opportunities to enhance the service delivery processes.
•   Contributes to technical documentation using Confluence. Delivering Technology
•   Performs more complex quantitative and qualitative analyses for service delivery processes and projects
•   Facilitates achievement of expected deliverables and obligations of Services Providers.
•   Validates completeness of requirements prior to Service Provider solutioning.
•   Ensures all projects follow the defined development and business case processes.
•   Ensures proper coordination with appropriate IT and vendor relations teams.
•   Provides consultation for routine and complex systems development.
•   Ensures early warning to the business stakeholder executives regarding degraded or missed service levels.
•   Coordinates with Operations and Infrastructure Delivery teams for deployment and production support activities. IT Governance
•   Follows all defined technology standards and processes (i.e. IT Governance, SM&G, Architecture, etc.), and provides input for improvements to the appropriate process owners as needed.
•   Maintains a proper balance between business and operational risk.
•   Follows the defined project management standards and processes. Service Provider Management
•   Validates that Service Providers are delivering per planned sprint and working to increase velocity during a PI.
•   Makes short term plans for the team to effectively utilize resources.
•   Monitors Service Provider outcomes.
•   Reviews estimates of work effort provided by Service Providers for accuracy and feasibility.
•   Facilitates timely resolution of service delivery problems and minimizes the impact to clients.
•   Provides regular code reviews on SP deliverables. MANAGEMENT COMPETENCIES
