As part of the Airborne Systems Business Area within the Defense Sector at Leidos, we are looking for a cleared Software Engineer to join our team. You will have the unique opportunity to collaborate directly with the Air Force Research Lab, Air Force Lifecycle Management Center, and various DoD missions. Your expertise will help us deliver cutting-edge solutions through software design and development, hardware interfacing, and integration.

Main Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain critical software systems supporting national defense and intelligence gathering for airborne and ground-based systems.
  • Engage in laboratory, ground, and flight testing to ensure software validation.
  • Document and effectively communicate proposed software solutions with diverse engineering teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Stay updated on the latest programming techniques and technologies.
  • Participate in software design and code reviews to deliver high-quality products and foster team growth.
Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 10+ years in software engineering or a related field.
  • Proficient in one or more programming languages: C , Java, Python.
  • Experienced in systems integration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex problems.
  • Familiar with working in a Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) environment.
  • Effective communicator, both in writing and verbally, apt at informal discussions as well as small group settings.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
  • Flexible and capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong enthusiasm for learning new technologies.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Active TS security clearance and eligibility for TS/SCI.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active DoD TS/SCI clearance.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, preferably SCRUM or Kanban.
  • Experience with Atlassian tools like JIRA, Confluence, and Bitbucket.
  • Experience with modeling and simulation environments for testing.
  • Knowledge of Live and Virtual Constructive environments for understanding complex systems.
  • Familiarity with DoD Open Architectures such as OMS and SOSA.
  • Experience with container technologies like Docker or Podman.
  • Experience with Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of developing for offline environments.
  • Strong understanding of Linux systems.
  • Experience with Unit Testing and CI/CD practices.
  • Solid understanding of IP-based network protocols such as TCP, UDP, and HTTP.
  • Prior experience working with the DoD is a plus.
Location: This position is based in Beavercreek, OH or Hanscom AFB, MA.

Pay Range: $126,100.00 - $227,950.00

The pay range for this level is a general guideline reflecting education, experience, skills, and internal equity. Factors essential in extending an offer include responsibilities, market data, and applicable laws.
