Are you passionate about building high performance software that directly improves surgical outcomes? VISIE is a venture backed medical device startup in Austin, Texas, pioneering a structured light 3D scanning platform that fuses live surface data with pre operative CT to guide collaborative robots in orthopedic surgery. We move fast, care deeply about code quality, and measure success in milliseconds and microns. Join us and help bring real time computer vision into the operating room.
What You'll Do
• Write modern C for low latency processing of 3D point clouds, meshes, and images.
• Adapt and optimize classical algorithms-RANSAC, ICP, Horn, bespoke 2D/3D segmentation-balancing accuracy, speed, and robustness in a live surgical setting.
• Fuse intra operative scans with CT to generate real time guidance for a collaborative robot.
• Profile, debug, and harden code to meet deterministic timing on Linux.
• Collaborate with hardware, systems, and robotics teams to deliver end to end performance.
• Contribute to design controls and documentation under IEC 62304 and ISO 13485.
Required Skills, Education, and Experience
• Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of professional modern C experience in production real time systems.
• Strong foundation in linear algebra, 3D geometry, and classical computer vision.
• Experience developing solutions with real time frame rate and latency requirements.
• Ability to extend and tune open-source libraries for application specific needs.
• Comfortable adapting to shifting startup priorities and wearing multiple hats.
