Senior Software Engineer (Level 4) to join a mission-focused team delivering advanced, secure, and scalable solutions across a variety of high-performance computing (HPC) environments. This position plays a critical role in driving the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and system architecture to implementation and deployment.
You will work collaboratively with engineers, system administrators, and security professionals to design and deploy CI/CD pipelines and modern software solutions that meet complex technical demands. If you're an expert in Unix-based development environments, cloud-native applications, and DevOps methodologies, we want to hear from you.
Here's what your day-to-day might include: - Designing, developing, testing, and deploying complex software systems in support of mission-critical applications
- Debugging and resolving software defects and performance issues
- Writing and maintaining software documentation, including user manuals and design specifications
- Leading development teams and overseeing work quality in accordance with secure coding and compliance standards
- Integrating software into existing systems and collaborating with systems engineers on technical trade-offs and performance tuning
- Supporting CI/CD pipeline development, including automation with GitLab CI and IaC implementation with Ansible
- Utilizing orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) to containerize and deploy software solutions
- Implementing data-driven analytics and working with both relational and NoSQL databases
- Conducting system-level testing and coordinating with QA teams to validate deliverables
- Recommending new technologies or tools that enhance efficiency, scalability, and maintainability
- Ensuring security, compliance, and performance benchmarks are consistently met
Qualifications: Required: - Clearance: TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline and 10+ years of relevant experience
- OR Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of experience
- OR 14+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
Proficiency with:
- Unix/Linux environments and shell scripting
- Programming languages including Java, C, C , Python, Perl, Ruby, JavaScript
- Git and source code management tools
- Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) and Eclipse IDE
- Agile development and CI/CD pipelines
- Containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes
- Orchestration frameworks such as Spring, Kafka, and queue management systems
- Strong background in designing and implementing cloud-based solutions and secure software architecture
Preferred: - Experience using the Atlassian tool suite (JIRA, Confluence)
- Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, or other monitoring tools
- Background in developing data-driven analytics or real-time systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience creating technical documentation
Compensation Range: $191,000.00 - $252,000.00 The salary range provided reflects an estimate based on current market trends and may be adjusted based on factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. The final offer will be tailored after a thorough evaluation of the candidate's background and suitability for the role.
