About The Role Software Engineer (Kubernetes/Openshift) Location: Herndon, VA
Clearance Requirement: Active TS/SCI with polygraph or SCI eligibility and ability to obtain polygraph.
Employment Type: Full-Time. Flexible for occasional telework - must be local to work location. On-site at least three days a week.

Position Overview We are seeking a Software Engineer with expertise in Agile development, Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), and containerization technologies to join our cross-functional Scrum team. This role involves designing, developing, and implementing software solutions utilizing Kubernetes and OpenShift to ensure secure, scalable, and high-availability deployments.
Key Responsibilities Develop, test, and maintain software applications and systems that incorporate logical and mathematical solutions.
Collaborate with systems analysts, engineers, and developers to define system requirements, performance metrics, and technical limitations.
Design and implement scalable, high-availability software solutions using scientific analysis and mathematical modeling to predict outcomes.
Lead and coordinate software deployments, system installations, and performance monitoring to ensure operational efficiency.
Implement and maintain Kubernetes-based microservices architectures for both cloud and on-premises environments.
Perform software development tasks, including enhancements, bug fixes, and system maintenance using DIA standard development tools (Java, GitLab Ultimate, etc.).
Utilize Docker, OpenShift, and Kubernetes to orchestrate and manage containerized applications.

Qualifications Required Qualifications: Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of relevant experience OR Master's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience OR PhD with 6+ years of relevant experience
Alternatively: An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance or SCI eligibility required, with the ability to successfully pass a polygraph
Programming Languages: Experience with Java, JavaScript, and Python
Operating Systems & Databases: Experience working in RHEL 8+ and Oracle 8+ environments
Cloud & Database Technologies: Familiarity with AWS services, including PostgreSQL and Oracle
Modern Development Frameworks & Techniques:
RESTful APIs, JSON
Spring, Spring Boot
JavaScript frameworks: React, Ember.js
Containerization & Security:
Experience with Docker, OpenShift, and Kubernetes for container orchestration and microservices deployment
Hands-on expertise with Keycloak, WildFly, Tomcat, ArcGIS, and Fidos
Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) Expertise:
Strong understanding and practical experience with OpenShift, AWS Elastic, and Grey Matter
Microservices & API Development:
Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
Certifications:
Current 8570 IAT Level II or higher certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE)
Collaboration & Workstyle:
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, Agile environmentDesired Qualifications: Experience with GitLab Ultimate, Jenkins, and Redmine for CI/CD and DevSecOps
Familiarity with AWS services, including EC2 and S3
Expertise in Kubernetes cluster management, including the use of Helm charts, Operators, and Kubernetes-native monitoring tools
Knowledge of network administration and security protocols across multiple domains
Experience working with Joint Intelligence Operations Command (JIOC) applications and intelligence data
