Position Summary We are seeking a
Senior ServiceNow Administrator / Technical Lead to oversee the performance, availability, and governance of the ServiceNow platform. This individual will play a key role in managing system configurations, upgrades, and daily operations-especially during the critical transition from pilot to production phases. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical knowledge, strong analytical skills, and proven experience in a hybrid public sector IT environment.
Hybrid work model: Primarily remote with occasional on-site presence required for major platform releases, planning sessions, or stakeholder engagements. Key Responsibilities - Administer and maintain the ServiceNow platform to ensure optimal uptime, performance, and security.
- Manage patching cycles, platform upgrades, and release implementations.
- Monitor system health, analyze performance metrics, and conduct routine audits.
- Configure IT Service Management (ITSM) and Hardware Asset Management (HAM) modules to meet business requirements.
- Implement role-based access controls in alignment with State of Maryland policies and procedures.
- Maintain and update platform documentation, including technical runbooks and configuration records.
- Partner with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into functional ServiceNow solutions.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on ServiceNow administration experience.
- Proficiency in ServiceNow platform configuration, scripting, and automation.
- Demonstrated experience in patch testing, defect management, and performance tuning.
- Knowledge of security and compliance frameworks relevant to state government operations.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience with ServiceNow CMDB, IT Operations Management (ITOM), and MID Server architecture.
- Previous work experience in state or local government IT environments.
- ITIL Foundation certification or ServiceNow Certified System Administrator certification.
