We are seeking an Senior Security Systems Engineer 3 to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business Unit. As part of (SES) Strategic Business Unit you will be part of a team that designs, engineers, integrates, operates and maintains electronic security services inclusive of intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio visual, it systems, perimeter defense and command and control systems for federal, local and commercial customers across high-growth markets. Work Type: Full-time What you'll do: Here's what your typical project will look like: As a Senior Security Systems Engineer 3 you will be an expert in designing and deploying security solutions and technology to improve our customers' physical security posture. This position requires in-depth knowledge and understanding of how to protect people and facilities by deploying tried and true as well as cutting edge technology. You should be able to quickly and thoroughly understand a customer's needs and translate that into a system design that can be deployed at scale globally. Be an expert in one or more technology sets in Physical Security: Access Control, Video Management (CCTV) and Unified Systems, Intrusion Detection, Perimeter Detection Systems, Biometrics and Device Detection Systems and more. Develop further expertise on vendor software and hardware products, establish and foster vendor relationships, collaborate and work closely with vendor product teams to provide product evaluation feedback and contribute to improving these solutions for our customers. Have an understanding of the IT environments needed to operate in and collaborate with network security teams to securely deploy the best solutions. Work with a team of Security Engineers and other cross-functional teams to share your knowledge and gain an even deeper understanding of how large enterprises are secured. Meet with the customer to understand the security needs and develop requirements and test plans Research and identify candidate technologies, evaluated the selected technologies against the defined requirements. Become an expert of various new and existing technologies and be able to communicate how the system enables the solution and its limitations Work with internal teams to assess and resolve all privacy, network security, and scalability concerns for the systems Write high quality documentation for system standards and operations Provide training and work hand in hand with installation and administration teams to deploy the solutions on site Continually re-evaluate the systems to ensure they are still effective and proactively assess how new technology developments or changes in the environment may require new solutions Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on security engineering needs and requirements for system performance, installations, and sustainment programs and provide recommended improvements per industry best practices Key Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 5+ years of security systems experience Hands on experience designing and deploying Physical Security Systems Application and System administration experience in performing triage on system problems, resolving system problems, analyzing system data to prevent problems, updating lab and evaluation environments, upgrade and migration plans to implement new and improved systems Reliable attendance at customer site during work hours required by customer Excellent verbal and written communication skills Leadership and management skills Networking experience and/or certifications Highly qualified candidates should demonstrate: Working knowledge and/or certification with electronic security manufacturers such as CCURE (Software House), Genetec, Lenel, HID, Axis, FLIR, AMAG, Hirsch, MDI, Bosch, Geutebruck and others. Candidate should have in-depth knowledge and understanding how these systems operate and be familiar with flaws and improvements Working knowledge and/or certification with operating systems commonly used for ACS, IDS, and CCTV systems (CCURE, Lenel, Genetec) Familiarity with physical security designs, standard operating procedures, and security operations Programming and scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, etc), experience with systems integration tools and protocols (APIs, SOAP and REST, XML/JSON), database design and query development Working knowledge and/or certification with communications and network protocols and services including TCP/IP, RS232, RS485, network-based video distribution (Multicast L2/L3). Corresponding vendor certifications include Associate, Professional, or Expert level certifications from Cisco, Juniper, Brocade, etc. Experience deploying ESS or IOT devices on secure network environments is a plus Understanding of IT systems, OS functionality and server infrastructure.
