Role/Responsibilities The Senior SAP Basis Consultant will have over 10 years of expertise in SAP Basis administration for SAP ERP/ECC 6.0, BW, and various SAP applications on Linux. This role demands collaboration with SAP developers and lower-level Basis Administrators to ensure business needs are met and system requirements are documented. You will provide high-level support and guidance for SAP solutions and lead more junior team members in the planning, support, installation, and maintenance of SAP systems.
Key Responsibilities - Daily monitoring of all system activities including SAP ERP/ECC 6, SAP BW HANA, and other SAP applications.
- Maintain and optimize SAP R3 and BW profiles and configurations for enhanced performance.
- Monitor background processing and batch jobs effectively.
- Support production scheduling through locally developed Linux shell and PL/SQL scripts.
- Administer and configure the management of approximately 200+ remote printers.
- Oversee application server login load balancing and monitor performance during peak periods.
- Manage transports between SAP development and functional teams.
- Work collectively with SAP support teams for system transport and management.
- Maintain SAP notes and utilize online support for issues.
- Regularly refresh sandbox, development, and QA environments from production.
- Lead installations and SAP support package upgrades for core modules and add-ons.
- Debug and troubleshoot Java stack-related issues.
- Maintain SAP portal environments and backend services, including SSL configurations.
- Assist with system sizing and planning for installations and resource allocation.
- Monitor database growth and performance, coordinating with database administrators as necessary.
- Oversee system backups and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity.
- Diagnose SQL performance issues and recommend improvements.
- Facilitate system refreshes from production to non-production environments.
- Manage and apply SAP kernel patches and upgrades.
Qualifications & Experience Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or a related field or relevant technical experience.
- A minimum of 10 years managing SAP Basis for SAP ERP/ECC 6.0 on Linux and SAP BW HANA.
- Experience with RHEL or OEL Linux server environments, including command line scripting.
- Proficiency in Windows server environments with command line scripting for SAP.
- Strong background in web environments, especially HTTPS and SSL configurations.
- Experience in conducting capacity planning within SAP environments (preferred).
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Adept in managing multiple assignments while maintaining high-quality work with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated sophistication in reasoning and problem-solving skills related to SAP Basis and Oracle database performance.
- Ability to act independently while still functioning as part of a team.
- Expertise to support SAP solutions effectively and lead junior administrators.
Desired Requirements
- 5+ years of experience with SAP Process Orchestration (PO) management and support.
- Familiarity with SAP Enhancement Packages.
- Experience with SAP Work Manager.
- Knowledge of SAP WWI integration with EH&S.
- Experience with BSI tax software installation and integration.
- Experience running SAP on Microsoft Azure IaaS.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure Monitoring of SAP systems.
- SAP Basis System Administration certification.
- SAP PO System Administration certification.
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux system administration certification.
- Oracle Enterprise Linux system administration certification.
Pay and Benefits Pay Range Minimum: $38.46 per hour
Pay Range Maximum: $58.65 per hour
