About the Role

As a Senior Sales Engineer at Red Oak, you'll play a pivotal role in connecting our powerful platform with the real-world challenges of our clients. You'll serve as a relatable, knowledgeable partner who understands the financial services industry from the inside out.

Ideal candidates will bring direct experience from within financial services or adjacent domains and ideally have "sat in the client's seat" in roles involving compliance, supervision, operational oversight or marketing. Your job is to make Red Oak's capabilities resonate by grounding every product demonstration in the context of your audience's day-to-day realities.

You'll partner closely with Sales, Product, and Client Success to ensure that every client's touchpoint, from discovery to implementation, feels insightful, relevant, and tailored to their needs.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Sales to lead discovery sessions and deliver personalized product demos that align with each prospect's specific role, responsibilities, and regulatory environment.
  • Relate to client stakeholders by demonstrating deep empathy and understanding of their daily challenges, leveraging your industry background to build instant credibility.
  • Translate abstract platform capabilities into concrete business outcomes by tying features directly to the client's operational and compliance goals.
  • Design scalable, feasible solutions that meet each client's regulatory obligations and business objectives, with clear, real-world applicability.
  • Serve as the technical and strategic advisor throughout the sales process, ensuring alignment between client needs and Red Oak's platform capabilities.
  • Stay current with industry regulations (SEC, FINRA, 17a-4, etc.) and communicate how Red Oak ensures compliance while enhancing operational efficiency.
  • Create detailed documentation including solution overviews, integration plans, and technical diagrams to support smooth handoff to implementation teams.
  • Be a bridge between product innovation and client experience by sharing client feedback with internal teams to inform product evolution.

Qualifications

  • 2-5+ years in a pre-sales, solutions engineering, or similar role in a SaaS or RegTech company.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Advanced certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, TOGAF) are a plus.

Required Skills

  • Working knowledge of SaaS platforms, cloud-based software, and APIs.
  • Strong familiarity with financial services workflows, regulatory requirements, and compliance technologies.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts in a way that resonates with compliance professionals, executives, and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of working cross-functionally with Sales, Product, and Client Success to drive client outcomes.
  • Comfort working in fast-moving, client-facing environments.

Work Structure

While we prefer candidates located near our Austin HQ, we are open to remote arrangements for highly qualified individuals.

At Red Oak, we are committed to making a difference for our customers every day. If you are passionate about customer satisfaction, have a knack for problem-solving, and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you.
