Senior Robotics Software Engineer

Hiring: Senior Linux Software Developer - Robotics Onsite in San Jose, CA

We are hiring on behalf of a leading robotics company revolutionizing agricultural technology. Their mission is to develop a new ecosystem of semi-autonomous robotic machinery for complex, GPS-denied environments like orchards. With cutting-edge AI and machine control systems, they aim to dramatically improve operational efficiency and profitability for orchard managers by delivering smart, autonomous solutions.

This role focuses on developing a robust vehicle core software platform that can reliably deploy, run, and monitor end-to-end robotic systems for off-road applications. The company is seeking an experienced Linux Software Developer with a background in shipping stable, production-grade applications for constrained environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Robotics/Platform team to create a reliable, high-performance robotic vehicle application.

• Develop both on-vehicle and off-vehicle software components for autonomous robotic systems.

• Improve build systems, deployment pipelines, health monitoring, and process orchestration for robotic applications.

• Build workflows to enhance Developer Experience for faster development and testing.

• Optimize performance of existing software components.

• Configure and define the Linux host system that runs the robotic software stack.

• Work closely with Robotics, Computer Vision, and Cloud teams to integrate systems with consistent interfaces.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.

• 5+ years of professional experience writing and shipping software.

• Proficient in deploying and configuring headless Linux systems.

• Strong programming skills in Python and C with CMake.

• Experience working with ROS 2.

Bonus Skills:

• Experience delivering pure-C software.

• Familiarity with Docker and SystemD.

• Knowledge of DDS (Data Distribution Service).

• GUI development experience using web frameworks (e.g., React).

• Experience with AWS Cloud Infrastructure (S3, EC2, etc.).

Compensation:

• $140,000 - $220,000 USD per year, depending on experience.
