The Senior Accountant, Revenue Accounting is responsible for performing/supporting all NCLH Ticket Accounting related system changes, upgrades, and modifications. This position will assist other department initiatives and is expected to work with the Sr. Manager of Revenue Accounting and various upper management levels to support and solution for enterprise level initiatives pertaining to our various reservation systems. The position requires a high degree of independent critical thinking, functional systems operational experience, and an ability to work effectively under pressure to solve for high pace, high priority revenue initiatives
Be a lead resource and subject matter expert for our tri-branded reservation systems and related pre and post implementation efforts for the NCLH ticket revenue accounting department. Pre-implementation efforts consist of end-to-end testing, documentation and report development. Including system design development activities, which will require creative thinking to solve complex problems for overcoming system limitations to ultimately support various business initiatives. On-going or assigned review of system configurations and/or variances identification and analysis. Collaborate with other departments to support new revenue initiatives and promotions. Effectively communicate and represent Accounting with other departments' upper management, including but not limited to Revenue Management, Passenger Services, Data Warehouse, Enterprise Analytics, IT and Digital Experience. Assist in the review and implementation of changes to the financial and operational systems in the NCLH ticket revenue area, including engaging change control process to ensure new promotions and initiatives have been properly set-up from an accounting perspective. Partner with the Financial Controls team and others to support the design and implementation of internal controls pertaining to new systems and/or newly deployed functionality, including supporting the troubleshooting of matters pertaining to legacy systems (i.e., Sarbanes-Oxley compliance). Assist Accounting team with the development and implementation of proper accounting procedures pursuant to established policies as required due to changes or enhancements to products or initiatives. Maintain an expert level understanding of the Company's revenue systems to assist in the continual development and improvement of the recording of accounting entries derived from these systems. This includes periodic reviews of current practices in order to identify areas for improvement as well as assistance with special requests from the operational teams.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or Finance from an accredited university. Professional certification such as Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) strongly preferred. EXPERIENCE: 5+ years progressive Accounting or IT Audit experience with a preference on operational or cruise line accounting.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Must have a strong understanding and application of US GAAP as well as the application of Sarbanes-Oxley. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required to effectively and concisely communicate with varying levels of management. Must be able to manage multiple projects at any given point, facilitate and lead meetings and solve problems while dealing with multiple variables.
