We are currently seeking a purpose-driven candidate with an ownership mentality to fill an open position as a Senior Research Associate. This position will be located in Rolla, MO. Summary: Acts as the technical lead for research and development products. Designs and conducts laboratory experiments, analyses, and processes to develop new product offerings. Responsibilities: Independently leads all aspects of research and development projects, takes ownership of project, and also leads the transfer through the Brewer Product Development process Serves as project lead, with guidance from management to drive project management tasks including planning and meeting project deadlines and driving project forward Proactively seeks out knowledge from peers, colleague, and industry relevant to projects Guide and support teammates completing tasks Presents to customers and at industry forums Documents work and initiates the submission of new intellectual property, and provides help with IP maintenance Keeps up to date on current development needs and looks for alternative approaches to problems Learn testing methods relevant to projects and keep up with company policies and procedure requirements. Improves and teaches lab procedures Responsible for communicating with supervisor, team members, and with cross-functional teams Provides in-depth data analysis summary for new material testing and product problem solving needs Helps set safety and housekeeping standards and monitors how they are practiced in daily activities Keeps up-to-date on best laboratory notebook practices and helps to improve and implement the process Learn and develop expertise in new areas and technologies and share knowledge with team Education & Credentials: PhD preferred in chemistry, polymer science, materials science or related field or Master's Degree in chemistry, polymer science, materials science or related field plus 3 years' experience materials development or Equivalent combination of education and related experience.
