DESCRIPTION

Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team is central to Amazon's commitment to innovation. As Amazon evolves, this team ensures that our tools and technologies perform optimally. As a Senior RME Technician, you'll help us stay ahead by adopting new technologies and improving our processes. Your focus will be on maintaining high standards and implementing upgrades to enhance efficiency.

Key job responsibilities

  1. Demonstrate best practices in equipment safety and monitor team adherence to processes.
  2. Track equipment performance via visual checks, condition monitoring, and preventative maintenance; schedule additional services as needed.
  3. Supervise technicians on shift, support their development, and serve as the first point of contact for Reliability Maintenance Engineers.
  4. Resolve equipment issues to minimize downtime and maximize processing speed.
  5. Contribute to system improvements and standardize processes across the EU network.

A day in the life

Leading your shift team, you'll ensure equipment readiness and proper operation, monitor processes for compliance, and perform preventative maintenance to maximize uptime. You'll identify and implement system improvements across the EU, use tools like SCADA for performance monitoring, and collaborate with your line manager on administrative tasks. The role involves shift work, including some weekends and nights, at one of our operational sites. Developing your skills here can lead to more senior roles.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Full Engineering indentured Apprenticeship and/or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Experience in a technical leadership role.
  • Experience in electrical and mechanical disciplines.
  • Experience with automation or material handling equipment.
  • Proficiency in English, both verbal and written.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in multi-contractor, multi-site environments.
  • Understanding of PLC control systems and compliance standards.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Degree in a technical or operational discipline is preferred.
