Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field.
- 7+ years of engineering experience in a plant manufacturing environment.
- Strong Six Sigma background
Overview
Responsible for driving equipment performance and operational efficiency improvements through data-driven analysis, engineering expertise, and collaborative problem solving. This role will focus on increasing OEE and reducing costs by enhancing equipment design, optimizing processes, and leading cross-functional projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical acumen, project leadership capabilities, and a continuous improvement mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Performance & Reliability
- Identify and resolve chronic equipment issues to deliver measurable improvements in OEE and cost.
- Redesign equipment as needed to enhance speed, reliability, and long-term performance.
- Conduct and lead Root Cause Analyses, track failures, and implement corrective actions to improve uptime and asset health.
- Prepare and manage conceptual engineering designs and floor plans for filler/packaging systems.
Data-Driven Problem Solving
- Utilize Six Sigma tools and methodologies to analyze performance data and address complex challenges.
- Leverage production data and trials to validate engineering changes and performance improvements.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in engineering on local cross-functional project teams.
Project & Vendor Management
- Lead engineering efforts related to capital projects, including design development, budgeting, scheduling, and execution.
- Support the seamless transition of capital projects to plant operations through documentation and hands-on involvement.
- Evaluate and manage external engineering firms and equipment vendors; assess capabilities, negotiate contracts, and ensure project alignment.
Documentation & Compliance
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including process descriptions, scopes of work, process drawings, and design reviews.
- Review and provide input on proposed filler/packaging changes and vendor submittals.
- Ensure compliance with safety policies and Good Manufacturing Practices.
