The senior regulatory compliance advisor serves a key role in helping clients adhere to applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations as it pertains to the employee benefits. The senior regulatory compliance advisor will perform the following functions.

Managing Director of Employee Benefits
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Compliance Program Development: Create and implement comprehensive compliance audit programs that ensure adherence to relevant laws and regulations, including HIPAA, FMLA, State laws, ERISA and other employee benefits regulations.
- Assist clients with calculating PCORI fees, conducting Affordability tests, guide clients through non-discrimination testing and filing requirements.
- Monitoring and Auditing: Regularly review and audit employer programs to identify potential compliance issues and recommend corrective actions as necessary. Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of compliance activities.
- Training and Education:
- Conduct regulatory compliance training sessions for the Human Resources staff of clients, enabling key staff to
be aware of their responsibilities.
- Develop and implement a regulatory compliance training program (including contract review) for internal
employee benefits staff of The Fedeli Group.
- Provide regulatory updates to clients in the following formats:
Seminars / Webinars
Written posts through the Fedeli Digest
At a minimum of once per year produce a high-quality compliance update white paper
COMPETENCIES
- A deep understanding of regulatory compliance issues in employee benefits, including IRS code Sec 125, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, and Benefit Plan regulations. Especially critical to success in this position is the ability to "connect the dots" with respect to multiple and sometimes conflicting regulations.
- A solid understanding of corporate taxation and business structures and their impact on employee benefit plans.
- Collaborative problem solving and project management ability.
- Employee benefit plan program knowledge: funding methods and contract features.
- Strong presentation skills: ability to clearly explain complex concepts and regulatory terms, adapting to the backgrounds of different audiences (CFO, HR Director, CEO).

- Excellent PowerPoint skills, including concept visualization

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, cell phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
POSITION TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
Full Time Position - 40-hour work week
TRAVEL
Travel is minimal, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- At least seven years of experience in employee benefits compliance
- Extensive client interaction, including presentation delivery to organizational leaders.
- Bachelor's degree with a concentration in one or more of the following areas: health care, economics, business law, political science (pre-law). Juris Doctor (JD) degree is a plus.
- Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation and/or Certified Health Compliance (CHC) is a plus.
