This role collaborates across Engineering, Production, Purchasing, and other departments to ensure quality requirements are integrated into all aspects of operations at our Chelmsford, MA facility.

Description
The Senior Quality Engineer, Aerospace Manufacturing, will:
- Develop and implement quality documentation, including procedures, work instructions, and training materials.
- Interpret complex drawings, specifications, and requirements to support product and process implementation.
- Monitor quality trends, analyze performance data, and report findings to leadership.
- Collaborate with the Quality and Operations teams to develop and implement process controls and improvements.
- Perform root cause and corrective action (RCCA) using structured problem-solving methodologies (PDCA, DMAIC).
- Investigate and resolve customer, product, and supplier quality complaints.
- Train inspectors and quality technicians in inspection methods and quality standards.
- Interface with customers and suppliers to address quality concerns and ensure compliance.
- Support the execution of PFMEAs, control plans, and process flowcharts in cross-functional teams.
- Determine appropriate inspection methods and tools in collaboration with Engineering and Quality teams.
- Manage non-conformances (NCRs), CAPAs, and Material Review Board (MRB) activities.
- Utilize quality management and inspection software (IMSXpress, Discus FAI, ProLink SPC) and support risk mitigation initiatives.

Profile

- U.S. Citizen (non-dual) required due to security regulations.
- Degree preferred (strongly encouraged) in Engineering or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in Quality Engineering (will consider 5+ with strong background).
- Expertise in CAPA management and AS9100 compliance (medical device experience is a plus).
- Hands-on, shop floor-oriented approach-must be comfortable working directly with production.
- Experience with tight tolerance manufacturing and high-tech, precision devices.
- Strong ability to interpret and enforce quality processes to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor quality teams (works alongside QM, QE, and Techs).
- Skilled in root cause analysis and problem-solving for complex manufacturing issues.
- Familiarity with regulatory and customer requirements for aerospace, defense, or medical industries.
- Comfortable working in a structured, process-driven environment with strict adherence to quality systems.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally to drive continuous improvement and compliance.
