SMX is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst to support a secure cloud infrastructure program for a federal customer. In this role, you will play a key part in validating the integrity, security, and performance of shared cloud services operating in a highly regulated AWS GovCloud IL5 environment. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a collaborative team focused on delivering secure, scalable solutions that contribute directly to national security and enterprise modernization. This position is a hybrid role supporting a Hanover, Maryland based team. Essential Duties: Develop, execute, and maintain test plans and cases for cloud-based infrastructure, shared services, and automation scripts supporting IL5 systems. Conduct functional, integration, regression, and performance testing of system components within AWS GovCloud environments. Ensure all delivered artifacts meet established quality standards and comply with security and performance requirements outlined in the ATO process. Collaborate with cloud engineers, system administrators, and security personnel to validate remediations and enhancements. Participate in Agile sprints, contributing to test coverage analysis, defect triage, and backlog grooming. Track and document test outcomes and defect resolution in tools such as Jira and Confluence. Contribute to the creation and maintenance of automated test scripts to support infrastructure validation and monitoring. Required Skills & Experience: BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. 5+ years of QA or software/system testing experience in federal or secure cloud environments. Experience with manual and automated testing techniques in support of infrastructure and platform validation. Familiarity with Agile development environments and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence). Understanding of security compliance frameworks including STIGs and RMF. Secret clearance. Desired Skills & Experience Experience testing in AWS GovCloud environments or other IL5 cloud platforms. Exposure to test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Postman, Python). Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and DevSecOps pipelines. Knowledge of performance and load testing tools. Certifications such as ISTQB, Security+, or AWS Cloud Practitioner are a plus.
