POSITION SUMMARY

Serves as a passionate brand ambassador regarding product quality and food safety to all key stakeholders. Develops and manages company product and equipment quality and food safety procedures that ensures a high level of quality consistency. Develops effective quality control and testing parameters for equipment and smallwares as needed. Works closely with the supply base to continuously improve. Maintains effective cross-functional relationships with other functions to ensure successful planning and execution of initiatives. Works closely with Distributor managed warehouses to ensure food safety/quality throughout the supply chain.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Oversee the implementation and compliance of all product quality/food safety standards.

• Create written quality control standards and specifications for all products.

• Verify certificates of analysis and develop testing protocols for incoming Finished Goods.

• Perform statistical analysis for regular reporting on vendor quality performance.

• Lead vendor quality approval and audit programs.

• Recommend and implement corrective and preventative measures to improve product safety and quality standards.

• Define and maintain a Vendor Quality Program. Facilitate and monitor Corrective Action Plans of vendors.

• Monitor and report trends on field non-conforming products and equipment issues.

• Maintain an awareness of new and emerging methods of quality control as well as related regulatory requirements.

• Work directly with vendors to create product specifications for new products and approve initial production runs.

• Test and validate new packaging and equipment for operational integrity, food quality, hold times, shelf life, etc.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's Degree in Food Science is preferred or a similar field.

• Experience working in a Quality Management role within a food manufacturing or foodservice environment with a minimum of 5 years' experience.

• Strong working knowledge of FSMA and applicable regulations governing food production/warehousing/distribution.

• SERVSafe certification or exposure, highly desired.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Office/R&D Lab or Kitchen environment.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to travel up to 15%.
